At what age can my child begin voice lessons?
The benefit of starting music lessons at a young age is that the earlier students' exposure to musical training, the more natural the learning process will be as they grow older. However, children's voices must reach a certain level of maturity before beginning vocal studies. Each child is individually assessed at Musical Memories in order to determine their vocal aptitude and level of natural musical ability before being accepted as a voice student. The average starting age is often between seven and eight years. |

Does my child need to know how to read music before beginning voice lessons?
No. Although the ability to read music is an essential skill, vocalists with no previous experience in note and score reading will be offered a course of study which will include training in the fundamentals of reading music. |

Will my child have opportunities to perform?
Absolutely! Students will be able to participate in studio and community recitals, and will also have the opportunity to perform in music festivals or prepare for exams if they demonstrate adequate skill level. |
